FAQ: Help! The Foot End Quit Working on My Adjustable Bed

Why isn’t the foot end working? Let’s take a peep under your bed to fix it in a snap.

The dilemma: The raise and lower buttons on your remote work perfectly for the head section on your adjustable, but the buttons for the foot section don't work at all. If this sounds like your problem, you’ve found the right Bed Boss adjustable bed troubleshooting guide.

Whether you have just installed your new adjustable base or have owned it for a while, the solution for a unresponsive foot end will be the same.

If none of the functions on your adjustable bed frame are working, read this troubleshooting guide. If only the head section isn't working, read this guide.

Why Did the Foot End Stop Working?

The standard answer is simplethe foot plug underneath the bed was not fully plugged into the control box OR it has wiggled loose.

Since the control box is located on the head end of the Bed Boss Maximize 604 and Relax 404 models, the foot motor on the opposite (foot) end is more likely to be inadequately plugged in at the time of installation and/or to wiggle loose over time.

How to Remove and Replace the Clip Piece

Step One: Fasten the Plugs

First things first, let's fasten the plugs. Take a look underneath the base and locate the control box with the multi-colored stickers. Notice the black clip piece that covers the plugs where they plug into the control box. This clip piece holds the plugs snugly in place.

When installing your adjustable bed, you must remove the black clip piece from the control box before you insert the foot plugs for the foot end to work.

The video below demonstrates how to fasten the plugs. The steps work the same for both the Maximize 604 and Relax 404 models.

Follow the video by removing the black clip piece that covers the tops of the plugs. To remove the clip piece, squeeze the sides. Securely reinsert the plugs, then replace the clip piece.

Keep in mind the clip piece must be fully removed in order for the plugs to make their connections. Otherwise, the foot end will not work. If the plugs become loose over time, they will need to be refastened by following the steps shown above.

Step Two: Reset the Control Box

If the foot end still isn’t responding after fastening the plugs, reset the control box. The reset will reboot the control box to reestablish its connection with the foot motor. Find your model below and follow the instructions.
